Now in its 11th year, The Sportsman's Dream Stable contest is a "Free" exclusive contest for Sportsman subscribers. Each contestant is given an imaginary bankroll of $500,000 to select three pacers and three trotters "from" the year's biggest yearling sales. Then round out your 10-horse Dream Stable by picking four 3-year-olds from the list of the 40 richest 2-year-old pacers and trotters from the previous year. Your Dream Stable earnings are the amount your horses win on the track during the year. Simple as that!
Contest forms will be mailed out to all subscribers with The Canadian Sportsman published on Jan. 19, 2012. Subscribers must then pick their stable and submit their form back to us postmarked no later than March 15, 2012. Beginning in June, standings will be updated every Monday on this website as well as published in every printed edition of The Sportsman. Final standings are tabulated after the last race of the year.
Contestants are vying for $5,000 (Cdn) in total cash prizes split as follows:
Grand Prize — $2,500 (Cdn)
Second Place — $1,250 (Cdn)
Third Place — $600 (Cdn)
Fourth Place — $400 (Cdn)
Fifth Place — $250 (Cdn)
